Day 1 - Devil's Tower

We did not get this far when we saw Mount Rushmore and so we camped in the National Park campground for $6. Nice campground but space is limited for big rigs. The ranger suggested next time we just park in the bus parking lot if we return. The park ranger and campground host were most helpful in solving our "oil leaking" front wheel hub problem. The campground host told us where to find cell phone coverage so that we could call Spartan chassis manufacturer for assistance.

The ranger told us where to find gear oil needed to refill the hub. We had no idea front tires needed oil and could leak if refill cap came off. We were lucky to find the problem when we did or we could have burned out bearings in the front wheel and seriously delayed our trip. Devils Tower (Close Encounters of the Third Kind) is an interesting formation and I did not know I was going to see prairie dogs on the way to the tower. Went to a lecture by a Sioux Indian.
